NICKEL CITY CANINE RESCUE
Acting on Compassion
At Nickel City Canine Rescue we are uniting a community through compassionate action. Our network of caring animal advocates knows that we are charged with being the change for all dogs in need.
The heart of our work is to rescue displaced and unwanted animals at risk of euthanasia. We commit to providing them with stable care, basic needs, and the kind of love that makes their tails wag again. We also believe strongly in raising community awareness by providing accessible education on animal welfare issues. Knowing these issues so personally helps us create a logical action plan to combat the problem at its source, through methods like overpopulation prevention (spay and neuter).
We are committed to creating strong links across the animal welfare community, with the goal of expanding our local network, and beyond. Together we can do so much, and they are so worth it.
“It is not enough to be compassionate, you must act.” ---- Amy Bartell
A country where the rate of euthanasia is dramatically decreased; and the rate of cruelty, neglect and over population is reduced or eliminated.
Who Are We:
We are a fostered based rescue located in the Greater Buffalo, NY area. We pride ourselves on being an all-breed dog rescue. We are a 50l(c)(3) organization and 100% of the money we raise goes towards the rescue and rehabilitation of the dogs in our care. We are 100% volunteer based, with no paid members or ownership. Although we primarily focus on dog rescue we cannot turn down a cat in need.
Since the rescue started its operations in November of 2018, we have rescued over 175 dogs across six states: Kentucky, West Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, and Texas. We have no intention of slowing down. Our volunteers work tirelessly to save these dogs from the terrible fate of euthanasia due to overcrowding at shelters across the nation.
Nickel City Canine Rescue does not receive any funding from the county, city, state, or federal governments. Our rescue does not receive tax dollars of any kind . . . we’re only able to assist the people and pets in need thanks to donations from the community.
